Removing a Vehicle

To remove a vehicle from your existing individual personal property account you must provide the documents below. These items can be emailed to IPP@JACKSONGOV.ORG or brought in person.
Please note:

If you have been waiting for an email response from the Assessment Department during the last 30 days, please re-send an email to ipp@jacksongov.org.
To help the office respond promptly, place one of the three topics below that best represents the request in the subject line of your email.

  • Waiver
  • New Resident
  • Previous Year Change

Individual Personal Property staff are located at the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence. Service is on a first come, first served basis.

 

Documents Needed:

  • Government issued photo ID.
  • One of vehicle documentation items below:
    • Trade-in paperwork with VIN and date of trade-in.
    • Notarized Bill of Sale.
    • Receipt from the donation or salvage yard that includes VIN and date.
