Creating a New Account

To establish a new individual personal property account you must bring the following documents to our offices:

Step 1.If you are already an Established Jackson County resident:

  • Please bring your government issued driver's license, state I.D., or passport.
  • Vehicle Titles, Vehicle Registrations or Renewals.

Step 2.If you are a Missouri resident moving to Jackson County from another county within Missouri:

  • Please bring your government issued driver's license, state I.D., or passport.
  • And a copy of your Tax Receipt or a Tax Waiver from the county from which you're moving.
  • And your Titles, Vehicle Registrations or Renewals.


Step 3.If you are a new resident to Missouri (moving from another state):

  • Please bring your government issued driver's license, state I.D., or passport.
  • And a copy of your Vehicle Registrations from the previous year.
  • And/or the documents listed below can be in any combination, but must cover January 1 with an out-of-state address for the past year:
    • Bank statements (P.O. Box addresses will not be accepted
    • And/or Utility bill (indicating "service at" address) 
    • Lease agreement or mortgage payment statement 
    • And/or credit card statement (P.O. Box addresses will not be accepted)


Step 4.If you are member of the United States Armed Forces and your Home of Record is out of state:

  • Please bring your government issued driver's license, state I.D., or passport.
  • Or your Titles, Vehicle Registrations or Renewals
  • And your LES or DD214 Military Form
