Obtaining a Statement of Non-Assessment

You may be eligible for a waiver (statement of non-assessment) if you did not own a vehicle in Jackson County or in Missouri on January 1 of the previous year.

You must first create an account if you don't have one to determine if you are eligible to receive a waiver.

You will need to provide the documents below to determine waiver eligibility. These items can be emailed to IPP@JACKSONGOV.ORG or brought in person.

Individual Personal Property staff are located at the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence. Appointments are recommended. You may schedule an appointment by using our QLess portal here.
