The Jackson County Legislative Clerk has released these final lists of candidate filings for the August 2012 primary election. The lists are based on the declaration of candidacy filings recorded in the Clerk's office, which began Tuesday, February 28 and concluded Wednesday, March 27. 3 New Members Appointed To County Drug Commission
COMBAT LogoJackson County Executive Mike Sanders has named three new members to the county's Drug Commission, which is tasked with overseeing the Community-Backed Anti-Drug sales tax program, better known as COMBAT. In addition to the new appointees -- Cathy Jolly, Keith Querry and Marc Radasky -- Sanders issued an Executive Order reappointing five individuals to new terms on the commission. > MORE

COMBAT has launched a new, dramatic billboard campaign to raise awareness about drug abuse and crime. A primary objective is to drive traffic to COMBAT's new web address, COMBATjack.org, where in-depth information is available about a wide-range of topics, from "Information Parents Need To Know," including the tactics drug dealers use to target our children, to information about the prevention, treatment and law enforcement agencies that COMBAT funds.
