Jackson County to proclaim U.S. Navy Week during special ceremony at Union Station

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. and County Legislature Vice Chair Megan Marshall, 3rd District At-Large, will officially proclaim November 11-17, 2024, as U.S. Navy Week in Jackson County during a ceremonial event at Union Station. This event, open to the public, will underscore the significance of the U.S. Navy’s contributions to the Kansas City area and celebrate the Navy’s essential role in defending and safeguarding the nation. Kansas City is one of only 15 cities selected this year to host U.S. Navy Week celebrations.

U.S. Navy Week is an outreach program held in select cities across the United States, bringing sailors and Navy representatives together with local communities. It is designed to provide a greater understanding of the Navy’s role in national security, promote public awareness and engage in community service. Navy Week in Kansas City will include public events and outreach activities that allow residents to interact directly with Navy personnel and learn more about their work and mission.
