County Executive Phil LeVota Announces Members of Sports Complex Redevelopment Task Force
Jackson County, MO.- Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota today announced the members of the Sports Complex Redevelopment Task Force, a group charged with helping begin the shaping of the future of the Truman Sports Complex site.
The Task Force reflects the County’s commitment to a process grounded in transparency, collaboration, and accountability as it plans for the long-term future of one of its most significant assets.
The group will begin its work with its first meeting scheduled for April 22, with additional details to be announced.
This 90-day effort brings together a diverse group of developers, business leaders, and community stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and develop a forward-looking vision for the nearly 400 acres of county-owned land.
“I want to thank each of these individuals for stepping up and taking on this monumental opportunity to reimagine the Truman Sports Complex,” said County Executive Phil LeVota. “The work ahead is important, and I appreciate their willingness to bring their time, expertise, and perspective to help shape what this site can become for Jackson County.”
Over the next 90 days, the task force will review past proposals, assess current market opportunities, explore development concepts that support economic growth, job creation, and year-round use of the site. Community engagement will be a key part of the process, with input helping to guide recommendations.
LeVota emphasized that this effort represents a critical step in planning for the long-term future of one of the county’s most significant assets.
