The Jackson County Project Management Team recently hosted members of the Blue Valley Industrial Association (BVIA) and the Kansas City Industrial Council (KCIC) for an exclusive tour of the new Jackson County Detention Center.
As key stakeholders and valued neighbors, more than 40 attendees had the opportunity to explore the facility, ask questions and see firsthand the progress and planning that have gone into this important community project.
Public Works Director Brian Gaddie said construction on the 1,000-bed facility is expected to be completed by mid-December of this year and ready to be occupied in April 2026.
