Hosting a big event?

Find great resources available through KC2026 such as the Community Playbook.

The Mid-America Regional Council is also providing helpful information.

Make sure your event is listed! If you previously posted your community event to the MARC Member Center calendar, be sure to confirm your information before Friday, April 3. All eligible events will be transferred into the KC2026 World Cup app for visitors, where you will be able to add additional information including event graphics.

Waste not, want not. Reach out to MARC for information on recycling and composting for your big events. We even have a few grants available to communities in Missouri to support landfill diversion.

Hot, hot, hot! We know it can be hot in June and July, and we want to make sure no one suffers from the heat. Open to community organizations, public agencies and beyond, the Community Disaster Resiliency Network is hosting Operation: Heat Shield, a free virtual session at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, to help prepare local organizations for a heat emergency.

Find your way. With so many visitors coming, travel will probably feel different this summer. In addition to thinking about flexibility for staff, consider encouraging more shared rides this June through WAY TO GO, a regional platform for organizing carpools and vanpools.

Don’t go it alone. Through MARC’s cooperative purchasing program, you can take advantage of existing contracts for your purchases. With just months to go, be sure to get connected to meet your procurement needs.
