Visitors of all ages will have the chance to make a newsprint hat and ribbon cockade, whitewash a fence, train for the militia, sing 19th century songs like the Star Spangled Banner, compete in hog calling and patriotic fashion contests, churn ice cream made from an original 1850s recipe and more. Living history interpreters will demonstrate trades and professions of the era, including blacksmithing, tinsmithing, cooking, shopkeeping and farming.
