Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Injured in Line of Duty

Issued by the Jackson County Executive’s Office in coordination with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office

Jackson County, MO, -On the evening of December 17, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was struck by a vehicle while performing official duties during an accident investigation at the intersection of South Buckner Tarsney Road and East Ryan Road.

The deputy was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and the driver involved is cooperating fully.

Out of respect for the deputy’s family, no additional information regarding the deputy’s identity or medical condition will be released at this time.

The County Executive extends full support to the deputy, the deputy’s family, and the entire Jackson County Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with our Jackson County law enforcement family, and we are grateful for the swift response of emergency personnel.
