Jackson County, MO, - The Truman Courthouse will be closed until at least 12:00 p.m. today due to a power outage impacting the City of Independence’s Courtney Bend Water Treatment Plant.
As a result of the outage, water service to the building is unavailable, creating a safety concern.
Because water service is required for safe building operations, County officials are hopeful the City of Independence will resolve the issue so the Truman Courthouse can reopen, and county business can resume.
Taxpayers can still do business with the County at the Downtown Courthouse, which remains open. Many services are also available online at jacksongov.org
