Application deadline extended to September 12
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. today announced the selection of a distinguished group of community leaders who will serve on the advisory review panel tasked with evaluating applications for the newly established Jackson County Senior Services Board.
The review panel will play a critical role in ensuring a transparent and equitable selection process by providing recommendations on board appointments. These individuals bring decades of experience in aging services, public policy, healthcare, nonprofit leadership and community advocacy.
Advisory Review Panel Members Include:
- Joan Israelite, Retired Non-Profit Executive, Founding Children’s Services Board Member
- Estella Morales, Community Leader
- Marjorie Williams, Former Hickman Mills Superintendent
“This review panel reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “We want the public to know that this process is thoughtful, inclusive and designed to ensure the board represents the diverse needs of older adults in Jackson County.”
The seven-member Senior Services Board will oversee the implementation of programs funded by the recently passed Jackson County senior services levy. The board’s responsibilities include guiding investments in services such as home-delivered meals, transportation, caregiver support, home modifications and wellness initiatives that help seniors live safely and independently.
Application Deadline Extended
To ensure a broad and diverse pool of candidates, the deadline to submit applications to serve on the Senior Services Board has been extended to Friday, September 12, 2025. Several strong applications have already been received, and the County encourages additional interested residents to apply.
“We know there are many compassionate, qualified individuals in our community who are passionate about serving older adults,” said County Executive White. “Extending the deadline gives more people the opportunity to lend their voice and expertise to this important work.”
