Jackson County Executive statement on passing of former Governor and U.S. Senator Kit Bond
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. has issued the following statement in response to the passing of former Missouri Governor and U.S. Senator Kit Bond:
“Today, we remember the life and legacy of former Missouri Governor and U.S. Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond, a lifelong public servant whose impact on our state will not be forgotten.
“Though we come from different sides of the political aisle, we shared a common belief that public service is a noble calling, and that government can and should be a force for improving people’s lives. Over the course of his distinguished career, Kit dedicated himself to the people of Missouri with unwavering commitment, grounded in duty, sacrifice and a deep desire to strengthen our communities. His work to advance infrastructure, education and economic development laid a foundation that will continue to serve Missourians for generations.
“On behalf of Jackson County, my wife Teresa and I offer our deepest condolences to Senator Bond’s family, friends and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him. May his legacy inspire us to lead with purpose and compassion, and to continue working across party lines for the good of others.”
