KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. has issued the following statement regarding the Missouri Supreme Court’s ruling on Amendment 3:
"I applaud the Missouri Supreme Court's decision to uphold the democratic process by allowing the reproductive rights freedom measure to remain on the ballot. This ruling is a victory for women across Missouri who deserve the right to make decisions about their own bodies free from government intrusion. The Court’s decision affirms that Missourians should have the opportunity to restore these fundamental freedoms through their vote.
“I stand with the people of our state in defending the right to choose and protecting the personal freedoms that are essential to our democracy. I remain committed to ensuring that Missourians have the chance to make their voices heard and I will continue to support the fight for the freedom to make choices about reproductive health."
