Jackson County Executive statement on Ahmaud Arbery verdict

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. has issued the following statement regarding today’s verdict in the Ahmaud Arbery case:

“While jogging around his family’s neighborhood, Ahmaud Arbery was chased, harassed, shot and killed. Today, a Georgia jury found the three men responsible guilty of his murder. Though we have every reason to celebrate this verdict that is just and appropriate, we cannot forget the brutal reality that another young, black man was callously taken from his family. Justice has been served. But until we stop the killing of innocent black men and women, our march toward justice continues.”
