County Executive Phil LeVota to Address Lawsuit Challenging Property Tax Relief Credits

 

Jackson County, MO. - Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota will hold a press conference today to address the recent lawsuit filed by the Independence School District and Fort Osage School District seeking a preliminary injunction against Jackson County's property tax credit program.

The County Executive will provide information regarding the legal challenge and the circumstances that led to the implementation of the tax credits, including taxpayer complaints regarding property assessments, actions taken by the Missouri State Tax Commission, and Jackson County's role in administering property tax collections.

The press conference will also provide additional context regarding the issues raised in the lawsuit and the County's response.
