Celebrate the beauty of fall by walking a different trail every Sunday in October. With crisp air, vibrant colors, and scenic views, it’s the perfect time to get outside and get moving. Each week showcases a new trail, highlighting autumn’s most spectacular landscapes while encouraging healthy, active living. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun. The first 200 participants at each location will receive a commemorative Walktober button designed by artist Brooke Wangwe—collect all four by attending every event!

Walktober kicks off Sunday, October 4, at Gillham Park.

Join us for a beautiful one-mile walk around the South Loop trail in Gillham Park, surrounded by fall scenery, fresh air, and plein air artists participating in our Quick Paint event.

Walk the paved one-mile loop at your own pace anytime between 10 a.m. and noon, or join the group walk with KC Social Walk Club. Come meet new people, explore the park and get your steps in while kicking off a full month of Walktober!

GROUP WALK:
Arrive by 10:30 a.m. for a meet-and-greet with KC Social Walk Club.
The group walk begins promptly at 11 a.m.

PARKING:
Street parking is available around the park, with additional lot parking at 41st & Gillham Road and 39th & Gillham Road.

CHECK-IN:
42nd & Gillham Road, across from the old pool/slabs. Look for the KC Parks tent.
