Celebrate the beauty of fall by walking a different trail every Sunday in October. With crisp air, vibrant colors, and scenic views, it’s the perfect time to get outside and get moving. Each week showcases a new trail, highlighting autumn’s most spectacular landscapes while encouraging healthy, active living.
Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun. The first 200 participants at each location will receive a commemorative Walktober button designed by artist Brooke Wangwe—collect all four by attending every event!
Walktober 2026 kicks off in Midtown at Gillham Park October 4, then on to Kemper Outdoor Education Center, Wyandotte County Park and finally Truman Trail. Plein Air Quick Paint Contests are planned for all four locations.
All events are free and open to the public.
