Celebrating six years of Walktober!!! Walk, ride or run a different trail the first four Sundays in October. The month of October is ideal for exercising outside ~ the temperatures are cool and the colors are spectacular. Walktober makes the most of this great season by inviting participants on a tour of autumn’s most vibrant landscapes and inspiring everyone to make movement a priority!! Commemorative Walktober buttons, designed by artist Alex Hamil, for the first 200 participants at each location. Attend all four events and collect all four designs!

The starting point has changed and will not be at Shelter 5&6. The starting point has been moved down the road to the Longview maintenance barn. Follow Walktober signs once you get to Frank White Sports Complex off of View High Drive and past the Community College.

Longview Lake Park is the home of Christmas In the Park and Longview Lake. Participants will have the opportunity to walk the route of Christmas In The Park starting at the Maintenance Barn and proceeding into Longview Lake Campground. This area closes on the first of October so the parks crew can start building the lighted displays that bring the magic of Christmas In the Park to life but will be open for Walktober guests to enjoy.

Guided Tour at 10:15 a.m. led by Park Ranger.
