The Jackson County Purchasing Department recently improved its efficiency with the aid of a new software application called Bonfire.

According to Purchasing Administrator Barbara Casamento the software is helping the department in many ways:

  • Provide faster service to departments on purchasing requests.
  • Enable a better collaboration with departments through an easy-to-use tool.
  • Will be easy for all departments and department management to review projects/bids.
  • Become more sustainable by using less paper.
  • Obtain better services and pricing through more access to bidders in the United States and Canada.
  • Ensure transparency and consistency in all projects/bids.
  • Provide reports and audits to assist in the purchasing process.
  • Provide an easy to view Contract Management module for departments to access information.

Casamento said, “We are very excited to use this new tool to improve service for our departments.”
