Polar Plunge 2026

It is time once again to bear the fridged temps and take a dip in Longview Lake to raise funds for Missouri Special Olympics.

The Annual Polar Plunge is noon Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Jackson County’s Longview Lake Beach.

According to the Polar Plunge website, “This "unbearable" event is a unique opportunity to show your bravery as you support local Special Olympics Missouri athletes by walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters.”

“This one-of-a-kind event promises a fun atmosphere with music, funny costumes and lasting memories for everyone.”

Pre-registration will be Friday, January 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Day of registration will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. All plungers must check in at registration before lining up to plunge.

The 2025 Kansas City Plunge had 585 plungers and raised more than $138,900.
