Kick off the holiday season with Jackson County Parks + Rec’s spectacular 27th Annual Christmas in the Sky on the shores of Longview Lake Beach.
On Wednesday, November 26, this holiday fireworks spectacular, courtesy of Parks + Rec and 99.7 The Point, has provided the opening night festivities for Jackson County’s Christmas in the Park since 1997.
The free event includes a holiday stage show featuring the cast of the Quality Hill Playhouse holiday cabaret, "Christmas in Song," and 100 singers and dancers from Monica's School of Dance in Lee’s Summit.
Santa will arrive on a mule-drawn sleigh to present the “First Gift of Christmas” ahead of the colorful fireworks show, which will be synchronized to holiday music on 99.7 The Point.
Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.
EVENT SCHEDULE: 5 pm - Gates open. Enjoy your favorite eats from a variety of food trucks. 6 pm - Holiday Stage show 7:30 pm - Spectacular fireworks light the skies over Longview Lake, all choreographed to your favorite holiday music. 7:50 pm - Drive through Jackson County's 37th Annual Christmas in the Park
