It is hot out, and there is nothing better to do on a hot day than to make a splash at Longview Lake Beach.

The beach has plenty of clean sand to sit, sun bath and build a castle not to mention a large swimming area to cool off in. Modern restrooms have changing areas and showers. If you want to keep from getting too sandy there is a large grassy berm and picnic tables. Concessions are also available with bottled water and ice-cream.

Beach goers are welcome to bring water toys, sand toys, pop up shade tents (if they can be staked in the ground), chairs, blankets and coolers with picnic lunch - no glass or alcohol allowed.

A 30 x 30 Picnic Shelter house featuring eight picnic tables is new to the beach this year. The shelter can be used for private gatherings like birthdays, reunions, baptisms, work parties, etc. The cost for full day rentals is $120 on weekends and holidays, $90 on Friday and $50 Monday-Thursday.

Host your child’s birthday party at the shelter for $150 (Cost based on a party of ten with two parents/guardians. Add $4 for each additional child, all other adults attending will receive the group rate of $1 discount per ticket. Parties start one hour after the beach opening time). Parties include 2-hour party, use of the shelter house, use of volleyball court and a Fun Bag with beach toys.

The beach is staffed with Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and managers. We currently have a shortage of lifeguards resulting in only Longview Beach being opened to the public.

Longview Lake Beach will be participating in the international Make Music Day June 21st. Scheduled performers:
3:00 – 3:45 – Chill Phil Steel Pan Man – Caribbean Steel Drums
3:45 – 4:30 – Harris Deutsch – Dr. Laugh – Blues

As the sun sets on select Friday nights the beach also plays host to Sand Cinema. Movies are scheduled to be shown June 18, July 9 and August 6.
