Dive into spring this Memorial Day Weekend at one of Jackson County Parks + Rec’s two beaches.
Longview Lake Beach and Blue Springs Lake Beach will open on Saturday, May 24 and be open daily through Labor Day.
Both beaches offer certified lifeguards, sand volleyball, showers and restrooms.
Longview Lake Beach offers a covered picnic shelter. It is also host to many special events including the popular “Sand Cinema” family movie series.
This year’s Sand Cinema flicks include:
Gates open at 7:30 pm. Showtime is around 9 pm or dusk. Admission is $10 per car. Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. No swimming, outside food, pets, or drinks permitted. Concessions are available.
Lifeguards are still needed for this summer. Red Cross Certified lifeguards in search of summer employment are urged to contact Scott Hall or 816-503-4878.
