Jackson County Public Health earns national accreditation

Published on October 28, 2025

Jackson County Public Health (JCPH) has joined the ranks of a small number of health departments in Missouri by earning national accreditation from the Public Health Board.

The accreditation highlights programs like the department’s harm reduction efforts through Narcan distribution which is provided at the clinic and through partnerships with agencies across Eastern Jackson County to easily dispense needed supplies to their clients and community.

Accreditation also recognizes ongoing efforts to deliver thousands of vaccines every year to prevent the spread of diseases. It validates the work outreach and emergency preparedness programs have done to provide education, referrals, response and resources for families in our community during their time of need.

As Jackson County grows and changes, JCPH continues to innovate, improve and lead with equity, making sure public health services meet the needs of every person in the community.

Jackson County Public Health celebrated 100 years of service in 2025, growing from a small rural health unit to a resource serving hundreds of thousands of residents across Eastern Jackson County.
