County Executive Phil LeVota to host Taxpayer Update Town Hall

Residents are invited to hear the latest property tax updates and get answers to their questions during a Town Hall meeting with Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota.

LeVota will host the Taxpayer Update Town Hall on Tuesday, September 29, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Midwest Genealogy Center 3440 S. Lee’s Summit Road Independence, MO.

The meeting will update taxpayers on Jackson County’s ongoing work to address property assessment and tax issues, including what has been accomplished, where things stand today, and what taxpayers can expect moving forward.

Under the theme “Solving the Property Tax Debacle: Where We Were, Where We Are and Where We Are Going,” the discussion will include updates on property tax relief efforts, the Property Tax Credit Information, and important next steps for taxpayers.

Residents will also have an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers directly from County officials.

“Taxpayers deserve to know what has been done, where we stand today, and what comes next,” said Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota. “We have made real progress, and we have important information to share. This Town Hall is also about giving taxpayers the opportunity to ask their questions and get clear answers directly from us.”
