Corrections Officers Academy graduates 143rd class

The Jackson County Department of Corrections recently celebrated its most recent Corrections Officers Academy Class with a graduation ceremony at the new Detention Center.

This was the 143rd class to graduate from the Department’s Academy and the first to graduate in the new facility.

County Executive Phil LeVota welcomed the class of 23 officers before certificates and awards were presented by Lieutenant Jason Turner.

The Jackson County Detention Center Choir conducted by Lieutenant Kiva Hill performed for graduates and invited guests. Sergeant Nelvin Allen honored the memory of Retired Sergeant Larry Hollin with a moment of silence.

Closing Remarks were presented by Captain Lea Henderson followed by a reception held in the new facility’s Break Lounge.
