Jackson County recently hosted the children of 31 associates for Bring Your Child to Work Day.
The kids’ day began with a raucous mock trial presented by the Prosecutor’s Office. The trial pitted the Big Bad Wolf against the Three Little Pigs in a legal contest for the ages. Did Mr. Wolf blow down the Pigs’ houses out of willful intent or was it an innocent sneeze? Apparently the rather boisterous jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision, so the defendant was set free.
Following the trial, the children and their parents were treated to a lunch of burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese and chips.
The Correction’s Department Choir got the crowd rocking with a pair of songs and Sheriff’s Department deputies gave a presentation on what it takes to do their job. The kids were also given the opportunity to design their own park.
At the end of the day County Executive Frank White presented each child with a certificate of participation and they all gathered for a group picture.
