The Blue Summit community is about to get a bit brighter.
Jackson County has partnered with Evergy to install 31 high-efficiency LED streetlights throughout the neighborhood by early 2026. The project is made possible through a lease program with Evergy.
The new streetlights will significantly improve visibility and safety, providing an output of approximately 4,800 lumens with a coverage radius of 50 feet. As part of the program, Evergy worked closely with the County to determine the most effective unit type and the best locations to meet community needs while maintaining industry standards.
“These investments are about more than infrastructure—they are about safety, community pride, and creating spaces where families can thrive,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “We are grateful for our partnership with Evergy and excited about the improvements ahead.”
The streetlight installations are anticipated to be completed by early 2026.
