Self-Care Awareness Month

Since September is Self-Care Awareness Month it is a great time to remind us that taking care of ourselves is essential. Self-care is often overlooked in our everyday lives.
Evolve to Live founded Self-Care Awareness Month to raise awareness of the incredible benefits of individual self-care. When practiced regularly, self-care creates significant personal, social and economic benefits.
Jackson County Wellness Coordinator Jill Miller identified four key dimensions of well-being:
- Mind – Take time to reflect and give attention to yourself where needed. Meet with a coach or counselor for an opportunity to grow!
- Body – Embrace an overall healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition, exercise and hydration. Get out and break a sweat!
- Heart – Create a positive relationship with yourself and others. Take time to laugh with friends!
- Spirit – Be present in the current moment, and find what is meaningful to you. Start each morning with a gratitude, meditation or breathing practice!
