Greg Addison

Name and title
Greg Addison, Superintendent of Marinas & Golf Course
Number of weeks with Jackson County Parks + Rec
Six weeks

  1. Overall responsibilities
I oversee the management of the Fred Arbanas Golf Course and our three marinas.

  2. What is your background?
Over a decade of experience in the golf business doing everything from being an on-course marshal to being a starter, a counter attendant, and a General Manager. I have also owned successful businesses and been involved as a Vice President in a private equity firm.

  3. Why did you select Jackson County Parks + Rec?
It’s an interesting story. I was serving as General Manager at a golf facility, and one of my members came up to me, handed me a piece of paper with a name and phone number on it, and said you need to call this lady. The name on it was Dianne Kimzey, Deputy Director of Enterprise Operations for Jackson County Parks + Rec. Suffice it to say that I was attracted to the challenge and to the team with whom I would be working.

  4. Since you are new to Jackson County Parks + Rec what has been your favorite aspect about working for the Parks department?
The variety of operations is really interesting – everything from golf courses to lake marinas and campgrounds to riding trails and athletic fields. There are a tremendous number of activities available.

  5. What do you oversee at the Parks department?
Fred Arbanas Golf Course and Longview Lake, Lake Jacomo and Blue Springs Lake marinas.

  6. What one thing would you recommend to a patron to do at the Parks department?
I am responsible for the golf course and the marinas, so I’m naturally inclined to point folks in that direction. However, there are so many things to do outside of golf and the lakes, I would just encourage the public to come out and explore.
