Jackson County Parks + Rec hosts Virtual Career Fair

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Parks + Rec, the third-largest county parks system in the Country, is looking to add to its award-winning team. The department will host a Virtual Career Fair for full-time and seasonal employment opportunities during two sessions at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

“Jackson County Parks + Rec is in the business of making people happy,” said Parks + Rec Director Michele Newman. “We’re looking to add service-minded individuals who are committed to delivering a quality experience for all who enter our Parks.”

A virtual session for those interested in full-time or managerial positions will be held at 11:00 a.m. The department has openings for Equipment Operators, Deputy Superintendent of Park Operations and Superintendent of the Golf Course and Marinas. Full-time employment with Jackson County offers a competitive salary, insurance, pension and vacation benefits. 

The department also has a variety of seasonal employment opportunities. Interested applicants can learn more about these open positions during a virtual session at 4:00 p.m. Positions range from concessions and lifeguards to ballfield grounds crews and museum interpreters. Successful candidates must be 16 years old with a valid driver’s license.
