Property Tax Bill(s): Your property account number is in the upper left corner of your bill. This is the most direct method of searching our database to find your account.
Property Account name(s): Taxpayer or Business Name.

Note: ALL online payment transactions will incur a $2.00 Transaction fee in addition to the Processing fee. Jackson County does not receive either of these fees.
Online payments will be on time if made before the online payment website closes at 11:40 p.m. on December 31.

Both courthouses are open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by Jackson County. Drop boxes for property tax payments are located at the west door of the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City (415 E 12th Street) and at the front door of the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence (112 W Lexington). Both drop boxes will close at midnight on December 31st. Do not place cash in either drop box. Receipts will not be mailed for drop box payments but are available online at www.jacksongov.org under “tax receipts”.
Personal checks, cashier's checks, bank drafts and money orders made payable to Jackson County Collector are accepted by mail at:

Please do not send cash through the mail. One check may be written for multiple bills of personal property and real estate, if the total of the bills are added correctly and account numbers are indicated. Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than December 31. Payments postmarked after that date will accrue interest, penalties and fees.
Checks can take up to 30 days to process. Receipts will not be sent for mailed payments but are available online at www.jacksongov.org under “tax receipts”.
Our new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phone payment system accepts tax payments by phone using an automated system available in English or Spanish. To pay by phone, residents can call 816-608-7332.
They will be greeted with a series of prompts to respond to via the telephone keypad and will need to have their property account number to use the system. Residents can pay using credit and debit cards and will receive a confirmation number upon successful completion. A $2.00 Transaction fee and 2.75% Processing fee will be added to the total amount paid. Jackson County does not receive either of these fees.
Contact the Customer Service phone bank at 816-881-3232 to answer questions about your property account(s), provide you with any amount due, request an emailed or mailed duplicate receipt copy, or for information about the Senior Quad Payment Program.

Please remember that at times, the parcel number for a real estate parcel changes, due to a segregation or merge of properties. In such cases, a search of the new parcel number may not reflect tax delinquency or a full tax history. You may do one of two things:
