Jackson County Executive announces limited public access to County offices
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. is announcing today that effective immediately, the County will limit public access to County offices. Changes include the closure of the assessment, collection and recorder of deeds offices to the public at the downtown courthouse. Taxpayers who need in-person assistance from these offices should use the contact information below to schedule an appointment with staff at the Historic Truman Courthouse. The west door of the downtown courthouse will remain open only for the public to access the 16th Circuit Court and for candidates to file for office.
For the safety of our residents and County staff, the public should utilize the services provided by these departments via the following:
Recorder of Deeds Department
Jackson County Parks + Rec facilities will also close through, at least, Wednesday, April 15, 2020, including the registration office, historic sites, golf course, meeting facilities, campgrounds and marinas. Marina stores will be closed to the public with the exception of gas sales.
All Parks + Rec events, programs, leagues, workshops and classes are cancelled through April 30. Fees for any facilities that have already been booked will be refunded in full. These additional preventative measures are being made to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Health officials continue to stress the importance of practicing social distancing and good hygiene, as well staying home if you are sick.
