KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. is proud to announce that Rep. Gail McCann Beatty will serve as the next Director of the Assessment Department. As Director of Assessment, McCann Beatty will be responsible for identifying, classifying and assessing all real and personal property in Jackson County.
“While many know Gail as the current Minority Leader in the Missouri House of Representatives, they may not know that she grew up in the appraisal business and has been a certified appraiser for 25 years,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “I could not be more grateful and excited that someone with her tremendous skills, experience and qualifications has agreed to join our team.”
In addition to her decades of experience at McCann Beatty Valuation and Consulting in the Kansas City area, McCann Beatty also served on the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission.
“I want to commend County Executive White for selecting such a talented and dedicated public servant to serve as Jackson County's next Director of Assessment,” said Missouri State Senator Shalonn "Kiki" Curls. “I am confident that Gail will serve the people of Jackson County honorably, just as she has done in Jefferson City."
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Jackson County as the Director of Assessment,” said Rep. McCann Beatty. “Proper assessments assure that there is adequate funding to provide vital services to the county. I look forward to taking a hands-on approach to educating citizens about the assessment process.”
McCann Beatty, a Kansas City native, graduated from Pembroke Hill High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010, chosen by her peers as Assistant Floor Leader in 2012 and Minority Floor Leader in 2016. A photo of McCann Beatty is attached.
