KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Parks + Rec will host a series of grand opening ribbon cutting events at several of its newly renovated Neighborhood Parks on Thursday, June 28. The locations and times are as follows:
- · 57th & Forest at 10:30 a.m.
- · 35th & Wabash at 12:30 p.m.
- · 24th & Woodland at 1:30 p.m.
“Jackson County is committed to improving the quality of life of the community, including the urban core,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “This project will help revitalize the neighborhoods, give children a safe place to play and bring families together, which brings me great joy and excitement.”
Improvements at all the parks include new playground structures, landscaping, sidewalks, fencing, picnic tables and pads. A new basketball court and goals will add to the fun at the park at 24th and Woodland. The community is invited to attend any or all of these events.
These neighborhood parks are managed and operated by Jackson County Parks + Rec, the nation’s third-largest county parks system, which features nearly 22,000 acres of parks, lakes, beaches, marinas, campgrounds, softball complexes, golf course and historic sites.
