Little Blue Trace Trail Extension to open
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Parks + Rec, in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is excited to celebrate the grand opening of the Little Blue Trace Trail Extension with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Media are encouraged to attend and interviews are available.

The concrete trail extension of this popular hiking and biking trail includes two pedestrian bridges and a new trailhead with parking for 41 cars. The project extends the Little Blue Trace Trail .75 miles south from Lee’s Summit Road, bringing the total length of the trail to 15.5 miles. The long-range plan includes connections to the Rock Island Shared-Use Path and Longview Lake.
This $1.1 million project, which began in March, was funded evenly between Jackson County and the City of Kansas City, Missouri. The Little Blue Trace Trail is a part of the regional Metro Green Trails Network, encompassing hundreds of miles of trails throughout the Greater Metropolitan Area.
