Jackson County Executive Responds to Governor’s Statewide PDMP Announcement
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. has issued the following statement following the executive order by Governor Greitens to establish a statewide Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).
“The opioid epidemic is wreaking havoc on our neighborhoods, taking lives and tearing families apart. We agree that something needs to be done to stop it and that’s what we did. In 2016, Jackson County took action to create a PDMP in partnership with St. Louis County.”
“We will review the Governor’s executive order, but it will not stop us from doing the life-saving work to combat prescription drug abuse. We owe that to the citizens of our community.”
