Frank White, Jr. attending White House Ceremony for World Champion Royals

Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. – himself a World Series champ in 1985 – has been invited to the White House as President Obama celebrates the 2015 Kansas City Royals' world championship.

KANSAS CITY, MO (July 20, 2016) – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr., has been invited by the White House to join President Obama and others in celebrating the Kansas City Royals’ 2015 World Series victory.

The trip will mark the Royals’ first trip to the White House since County Executive White and his fellow 1985 World Series champions were honored by former President Ronald Reagan.

"It is a great feeling to witness players that I managed and coached win the World Series and be celebrated by the president of the United States. It is an honor and a privilege to represent the people of Jackson County each and every day, but I must admit, this is truly special. Go Royals! Go Jackson County!" White said.

After his baseball career, White made a successful transition to government service. He served as a Jackson County Legislator in 2014, and was appointed in January to the role of Jackson County Executive.
