County, ATA providing kids from Guadalupe Center a day at the beach

Jackson County and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority are providing a group of kids from the Guadalupe Center a "day at the beach," allowing them to enjoy county park activities they might not be able to otherwise.

Bringing Kansas City to Jackson County Parks, a partnership between Jackson County and KCATA.

One of the priorities of Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr., is to make sure all residents of the county know what is available – especially through its extensive Parks + Rec system. In an effort to bring all parts of the county together, Jackson County is working with Guadalupe Center and other community groups to take children out to the beaches. Admission is free to participating kids and KCATA is providing the transportation. This is the second beach trip so far this summer.
