Jackson County's Fourth of July Celebration Is Just Weeks Away!

Discover why Jackson County's Fourth of July Celebration has fast become one of the most popular Independence Day events in the Kansas City metropolitan region.

Jackson County will present its 5th Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Longview Lake Shelter 13, Monday, July 4, 5:30 – 10 p.m. Set on the shores of beautiful Longview Lake, entertainment highlights include:

• Two FREE concerts, featuring nationally recognized ‘80s chart toppers The Romantics who will perform their hit single, “What I Like About You,” and local country rockers Barbwire Revolt;

• Fourteen of the best locally owned food trucks, offering something to please every palate -- from burgers and BBQ to Mexican and Asian Fusion to ice cream and funnel cakes;

• Truman Medical Center FREE Kid’s Blast Zone with games and inflatables for kids of all ages;

• Military Salutes highlighted by Military Color Guards and KC Skydivers;

• And the largest and most colorful fireworks finale in the Midwest!

• Weekend of June 25 -26Director of Parks + Rec Michele Newman will be available for interviews about the event on Saturday June 25; Sunday, June 26 and Monday, July 4.

• July 46 – 7 am: Visual of the shells that comprise the largest and most colorful fireworks finale in the Midwest;

• 6:15 p.m. Barb Wire Revolt – Concert• 7:45 p.m. Military Salutes, Skydivers
• 8:15 p.m. THE ROMANTICS – Concert• 9:45 p.m. Fireworks!

Note: In preparation for the event, Longview Lake Beach will be closed July 4th. No grills, pets or coolers will be allowed into the event.
