Independence Square Lighting Ceremony

The Historic Truman Courthouse is where our community's past meets its present. Each year, the lighting ceremony has become a tradition for many families in Jackson County and with each passing year, new memories are made.
Join County Executive Frank White, Jr. with celebrity guest, 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist Zach Garret, for this year's Independence Square Lighting Ceremony.

Olympic Archer Zach Garrett will fire a shot to light up the Independence Square during the annual lighting ceremony at Jackson County’s Historic Truman Courthouse. Garrett who received the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will join Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr., for the Nov.18th event.
