Notary Public Applications
In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Notary Commissions and other services provided by the County Clerk’s Office will be by appointment only.
- For appointments at the Kansas City Office, located at 415 E. 12th Street, 2nd Floor, please call 816-881-3242. Only the west, Oak Street doors of the Kansas City Courthouse will be open for public access. Please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
- For appointments at the Independence Office located at 201 W. Lexington, 2nd Floor, please call 816-881-1626. Please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Public visitors seeking in person services are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Additionally, requests for information or appointments can be emailed to coclerk@jacksongov.org

Notary Bonds
When picking up a commission, the notary public should bring his/her $10,000 notary bond, letter received from the Secretary of State and $5 processing fee. Only cash or checks are accepted.
