Workforce Development Board (Eastern Jackson County)
Representatives of Jackson County, the city of Independence and Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council have forced a consortium for the purpose of implementing and operation program authorized by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
The Eastern Jackson County Workforce Development Board was formed to implement a job training program developed under a grant received by the Full Employment Council related to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
The board shall consist of up to 35 members appointed by local elected officials.
The County Executive shall appoint seven of the members. These appointees shall represent businesses with employment opportunities in the Jackson County area.
At least one member appointed by the County Executive shall represent small business, including minority business.
Members shall serve staggered terms of two years. Members shall continue to serve until their successors are appointed.
