Informal Review Stipulation Form explained

If you filed an Informal Review request with the Assessment Department for a specific real property parcel and have received a Stipulation form for resolution of that request, please note the following:

Explanation:

A sample Stipulation form can be found here with gray, yellow, blue and green highlighting.

The gray highlighted areas are specific to the parcel number and owner information; signatures, dates, etc.

The Market Value Total set forth in the 2019 VALUE OF RECORD column is the initial Market Value for this parcel on our records following completion of the 2019 reassessment for which you requested an Informal Review.

The Market Value Total set forth in the STIPULATED 2019 VALUE column is the Market Value proposed for resolution of this Informal Review request after the Assessment staff has had an opportunity to review the additional documentation that you submitted.

Procedure:

If you have received a Stipulation form and you agree with the Market Value Total set forth in the STIPULATED 2019 VALUE column for resolution of your Informal Review request for the listed parcel, please sign the form and return it to stipreturn@jacksongov.org or via fax to 816-881-1388 ASAP.

If you have received a Stipulation form and you do not agree with the Market Value Total set forth in the STIPULATED 2019 VALUE column for resolution of your Informal Review request for the listed parcel and you have already filed a BOE appeal on this specific parcel, you need to do nothing further at this time. You will be notified by postcard when and where your BOE hearing is scheduled.

If you do not respond to the proposed Stipulation form, you will receive a No Change notice. You will have 21 days from the date of the No Change notice to appeal this parcel’s valuation to the Board of Equalization if you have not already done so.

For information about how to file a BOE appeal, contact BOE staff at boardofequalization@jacksongov.org or 816-881-3309.
