Ronald E. Finley was admitted to the Missouri Bar Association in 1976. He was admitted to pracitce law before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1989. He has conducted a solo practice of law in Kansas City since 1980.
Mr. Finley was elected to the City Council of Kansas City in March of 1991 and re-elected in 1995. Mr. Finley was elected to the Jackson County Legislature in 1998 and re-elected in 2002. He served as the County Legislator representing the 2nd Legislative District encompassing most of east central Kansas City and a section of Raytown.
In January 2005 Missouri State Sen. Yvonne Wilson appointed Mr. Finley as her Chief of Staff. He was elected to the County Legislature in 2018 and again currently represents the 2nd Legislative District.
He is a Founding Member of the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime, a Golden Heritage Life Member of the NAACP, and a Past President of the Kansas City branch of the NAACP. He has served on the boards of several organizations. Mr. FInley was named one of the 100 Most Influential African-Americans of Greater Kansas City in 1993 and 1998 by The Kansas City Globe.
Mr. Finley received a Bachler of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Juris Doctorate and Masters of Law Degrees from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He lettered in college football and track, while attending Central Missouri State College.
