Isaac Johnston has been named Deputy Director of the Department of Corrections.
Isaac has served as the Acting Deputy Director since November of 2017. His public safety career includes serving as the warden of two facilities, the Leavenworth Detention Center, which houses maximum security inmates, and a Correctional Treatment Facility in Washington, D.C.
According to Corrections Director Diana Turner, Isaac has been a tremendous asset to the jail’s leadership team since being appointed the Acting Deputy Director.
“He brings to his new assignment a wealth of experience in custody and senior executive positions in maximum security correctional facilities,” she said. “Deputy Johnston has the full support of the Department associates, having modeled first hand dedicated performance in this facility as a Detention Shift Administrator before joining the administration. He shares our vision for professionalism and excellence in service delivery to the population we serve, their families, our stakeholder agencies, and our teammates.”
