    7th Neighborhood Prosecution Team
To Launch July 25 In The Northeast

Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker with Paul Rojas, Atziri Tovar and The Rev. Al Ebach.

The seventh neighborhood prosecution team will launch on July 25 in the city's Northeast area.

The launch puts the office well on its way to meeting its 2012 goal of 10 neighborhood prosecution teams for Kansas City. These new teams focus new attention on Kansas City neighborhoods struggling to deal with a variety of crime and nuisance issues.

"This is among several new programs aimed at preventing crime and reducing the number of victims of crime," said Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

In the Neighborhood Prosecution Program, proscutors go into the community and work with community leaders and police on the best strategies to deal with crime, especially violent offenders. This assures more effective prosecution. Other partenrs, including DART (Drug Abatement Response Team) have also been successful.

Other neighborhood prosecution team locations: 27th and Prospect Avenue; Independence Avenue, Prospect to Paseo; Armour & Troost; Blue Hills, Central High area, the Westside.
