2013 Anti-Violence Special Initiative

October 29, 2013 Deadline

Proposals for the 2013 COMBAT Anti-Violence Special Initiative funding must be submitted to Jackson County's Purchasing office no later than 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. 

A pre-proposal meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m., on October 15, 2013, in the Jackson County Legislative Chambers.  Attendance at the pre-proposal meeting is required to apply for the COMBAT Anti-Violence Special Initiative.

Evaluation of Proposals for Funding
Proposals received by the COMBAT office will be evaluated by outside evaluators, as well as by COMBAT administrative staff to determine whether the programs meet funding criteria. Applications that are determined to have met the RFP criteria will be presented to the Jackson County Drug Commission for approval before being presented to the Jackson County Legislature.

The application itself can be reached from the COMBAT site but all directions of the RFP as posted in Purchasing must be completed.


Jackson County, Missouri is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to fund a COMBAT Anti-Violence Special Initiative. This RFP seeks proposals for competitive bids to provide innovative projects to reduce violence in Jackson County. COMBAT dollars will fund no more than 10 of these special projects, at an anticipated average cost of $50,000 each. 

This Special Initiative will focus on the following areas: 

1. Gang violence
2. Weaponry and  young males
3. Methamphetamine and violence
4. Ex-offenders and violence
5. Parenting and family and interventions
6. Relationship violence
7. Restorative Justice, Conflict and Resolution
8. Perpetrator Remediation
9. Community  Violence Prevention

Successful applicants will be expected to participate in COMBAT sponsored activities, and a COMBAT funded external evaluation of the Anti-Violence Special Initiative.
