Jackson County COMBAT is

Stepping Up Against Violence

COMBAT Director Stacey Daniels Young, along with Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker and Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp, welcome volunteers to the neighborhood canvassing event in Hickman Mills.

Volunteers speak with neighbors
Volunteers from the Fairwood Homes Association speak with neighbors and encourage everyone to report suspicious activity or violence in their community.

June 27, 2013 -- During the month of June, Jackson County COMBAT rallied in the communities of Grandview, Lee’s Summit and Raytown to promote their anti-violence campaign, “Don’t Look The Other Way. Step Up. Speak Up.”

Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders, along with Prosecuting Attorney Jean Peters Baker, Sheriff Mike Sharp and the Jackson County Legislature, all have been at the forefront of the campaign showing their commitment and support.

Volunteers, police, neighbors, and COMBAT staff walked the streets of neighborhoods distributing door hangers and yard signs to homes.

If you interested in volunteering with COMBAT, please call 816-881-1400 or email DaRon McGee, Public Affairs Coordinator.
